About SHIBORILONDON
Print and fashion designer from Hampshire, England. Gi Armstrong has worked with well known brands such as Liberty of London, John Lewis, and OKA.
Shibori is an ancient type of patterned textiles from Japan, traditionally used in the production of kimono jackets. Gi started by creating her own jackets, designing, printing and sewing them in England.
Now she works with Indian craftspeople and designs clothing for all the family. I combine British design with stunning block prints from Rajasthan to create colourful; jackets, dresses, jumpsuits, shirts and children's clothing. I use natural dyes where possible, sustainability is at the heart of my brand. My shirts are made from surplus fabric left over from the textiles industry in Jaipur. The nehru waistcoats and shawls are handwoven by a family run business in the Himalayas. My packaging is fully recyclable and biodegradable.
Gi and her family are currently living in Bangkok, they made the move in December 2024. Please get in touch directly for wholesale orders! She is looking forward to working with craftspeople here too, for latest updates follow @shiborilondon on Instagram.
